Anorthite ( CaAl2Si2O8) is abundant on the Moon and is found on the lunar highlands (the lighter surface). It is a source for Aluminum, Silicon and Oxygen.
Ilmenite is the 4th most abundant mineral on the Moon. It is found in the lunar Maria (the darker plains). It is a rich source of Iron, Titanium and Oxygen.
Water, in the form of ice, has been detected in the Permanently Shaded Regions near the south pole, e.g. the Shackleton Crater. The inside of these craters never see sunlight and have some of the lowest temperatures in the solar system.
A layer of loose, fine grained layer covering nearly all of the lunar surface. It is useful for protection against solar flux radiation. It also contains trace amounts of atoms in the solar wind: Helium, Carbon, Nitrogen. It can potentially be used to make bricks for shelter construction.
